Flatwater Kayaking
is a great way to get outside, get a work out and enjoy the beauty of the area from an entirely different perspective. The Columbia River Gorge is a host to many types of flatwater environments. Experience breathtaking views and the changing plant and animal life of the Gorge with experienced guides. Tours are available on the Columbia River, Rowena, Northwestern Lake, Drano Lake, and Lost Lake. Walk-ins are welcome or contact the school to schedule a tour. No experience is necessary. There is a paddling tour for everyone.
The Beginner Recreational Tour
Come and paddle on a relaxing trip that takes place
at Miller Island or in the Marina in Hood River. This
is a wind dependent tour. The trip is designed for people
who have never been kayaking or who are uncomfortable
in water and are looking to experience a few hours of
stress free paddling.
Cost: $75 per person
The Intermediate Recreational Tour
The Intermediate Tour is designed for people with some
paddling experience who are looking for the opportunity
to improve their skills by paddling in a more challenging
environment. The tour is a five-mile paddle from Mosier
to Hood River, with views of the spectacular steep cliffs
of the Columbia River Gorge. The tour will encounter
some choppy conditions with some wind and small waves.
This is a weather dependent tour that will give kayakers
the opportunity to focus on paddle strokes and some
rescue practice.

Full Moon Paddle
A Full Moon Summer Recreational Paddle on the Columbia
River is one of the most beautiful sights in the Gorge.
There are those who say a paddle in the moonlight creates
an infinite bond with the Gorge and the Columbia and
your fellow paddlers—you’ll be destined
to return again and again. Depending on wind and rain,
the tour will be from Hood River to Wells Island and
will take about 2 hours. No experience
necessary, all equipment and transportation provided.

WHAT TO BRING:
Warm clothing to keep comfortable. Rain jacket and pants,
or wind breaker. Good footwear—warm socks and
sturdy shoes. If attending the Full
Moon Paddle, be sure to bring head lamp, flashlight—we
provide glow sticks!!
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
All kayaking gear: kayak, paddle, PFD, air bags, and
transportation.
Time: 9pm-11pm
